Chess is one of the world's most popular games; it has been described not only as a game, but also as an art, science, and sport. Chess is sometimes seen as an abstract wargame; as a "mental martial art", and teaching chess has been advocated as a way of enhancing mental prowess.
Chess is a test of patience, nerves, will power and concentration. It enhances your ability to interact with other people. Chess is a wonderful tool to increase concentration, self-control, patience, imagination, creativity, logical thinking and many more important and useful life skills. Chess is a new way of solving the old problem of poor education. From the streets of Harlem to Venezuela's public schools the sport of kings has been implemented as an effective tool for teaching students to utilize their higher order thinking skills and to strive to overcome personal problems to reach their full potential.
Chess is still one of my favorites, because it has staying power and it challenges the mind with ever increasing depth of play. Like all great games chess is deceptively simple, but when played by a master has depth which astounds you. Chess is a strategy board game with an ancient history and a long pedigree. Some historians believe that chess may be one of the oldest strategy games still in play, and there are some disputes about the origin of the game in many discussions of the history of chess. Chess is an almost inexhaustible game.
Chess is one of the most important games to play. It teaches you to think and to think ahead! Chess is recognized in many countries as a useful tool for developing creative thinking in children. Although chess can be regarded as a rather complex and mysterious game, the rules themselves are straightforward.
The links to the left aims to clarify and teach those rules, in order for you to also enjoy the great game of chess.
